Did you get ripped off by 1 800 Skyride or other
1 800 Skyride aliases?
Also know as Thrill Planet, Adventure Skydiving, or AST? If
so, contact us, we may be able to help.
Did you
think that it just cost too much?
IT DID!!
Did you purchase a Gift Certificate for a Glider Ride or
a Hot Air Balloon ride, only to find that your Gift Certificate is worthless
and
cannot be redeemed anywhere near the place that you thought it was advertised to
be?
Read this information
before choosing where to skydive, Go for a Glider Ride, Hot Air Balloon Ride or
Race Car Ride.
In recent months, a Skydiving Company based in
Atlanta, Ga. that operates under the name of
1 800 Skyride, Adventure
Sports or Thrill Planet has been running
websites and internet advertising claiming to be in each and every city and
state in America. Be aware that they are ONLY
located in Cedartown, Ga. and there is no such
thing as a national chain of skydiving schools, Glider Rides, Race Car
Driving or Hot Air Balloon ride companies.
Be advised that the
average Tandem Skydive will cost between $180 and $220, depending on what part
of the country the Skydive Center is located. The only other charge that should
be added over and above that cost would be if you should decide to purchase the
video of your skydive and this will normally cost between $65 and $90, but keep
in mind that this is completely OPTIONAL and no reputable skydive center will
require or pressure you in to buying the video package. There is a Skydive
Center that is located in Cedartown, Ga. that operates under the names of 1 800
Skyride, Adventure Skydiving, Thrill Planet and many, many other names. They run
websites that claim to be in every Metropolitan city and every state
in America. Their latest claim is that they Are operating in downtown
Nashville and many other Metropolitan cities. The truth is that there is NO
skydiving in any major city in America, It's ILLEGAL! The only skydives that
happen in the city are if a skydiving team jumps in to a major event like a Pro
Football game or a NASCAR racing event etc. Those are professional skydivers and
are definitely NOT first timers. Normally Skydive Centers are located 30 to 75
miles from the major city. The 1 800Skyride/Adventure websites do not give
their location and they will not normally tell you where they are until they
have your credit card information. They will immediately charge you a
cancellation fee and a bad weather insurance fee. They don't care if you have a
death in the family or what, you will be charged these charges and they DO NOT
get applied to the cost of your jump. These charges in combination with the
cost of the actual skydive and your travel including a hotel room in Cedartown,
Ga. (Atlanta area) could cost you well over $500 to $700 for a skydiving trip
that should not have cost over about $200 to $290. (This is if you choose the
video).
We now have a couple of new stories that recently ran on two
different networks,
NBC Affiliate WSMV Channel 4 in Nashville, Tn. and
CBS Affiliate KVOR in Scaramento, Cal. These are two different venues and in two different parts of
America, but both are business as usual for 1 800 Skyride. Just click on the
following links to see the stories.
WSMV and
KVOR.
The follow up to the
Nashville Story is just after
the story ran in October 2009, the 1 800 Skyride started posting
bumper stickers on
Stop Signs and other road side signs as an
obvious attempt to scam Nashvillians out of their Christmas money. As a
result, the
Metro Nashville Government has initiated
legal action against 1 800 Skyride, Here's the news story from
WSMV that tells about the
legal action.

Speaking of

News Flash!!!
This is a link for the new
Tennessee State Law that just became effective 1 July 2008, Check out the law, it clearly
shows that companies like Skyride, Thrill Planet, Adventure, or whatever they are
going by this week is operating
ILLEGALLY!
http://www.state.tn.us/sos/acts/105/pub/pc0873.pdf
In this law, an advertiser like Skyride has to CLEARLY state their physical
location on their websites and phone book ads, AND calls made to a company's
call center CANNOT be forwarded outside of the local calling area that the location
is advertised to be located in. For Example; If a company advertises to be
in Connecticut,
BY LAW it has to have a location IN Connecticut, If a company
advertises to be in Nashville, Tn. It BYLAW
Has to have a PHYSICAL LOCATION In Nashville, Tn. This law also states that
companies like Skyride cannot use the name of a city or state to mask their actual
location. For example; a company cannot advertise to be "Nashville Skydiving"
if they are not based or located in Nashville, but actually located in Cedartown,
Ga., which is over 250 miles away from Nashville.
To Show Thrill Planet's Blatent disregard for the legal system
and State Laws, Check this link www.1800skyride.com/Skydiving/Clarksville for
another one of their fraudulent websites that advertises to have a skydive center
in Clarksville, Tn. The problem with this site is that they are trying to make an
effort to do some skydiving there, but the websites are still illegal. You
will notice that it does not give any directions and does not give a location.
THAT'S ILLEGAL! That's
because they want you to call them and give them your credit card number before
they will tell you that they are in Cedartown, Ga. Don't get scammed! Don't
give your credit card number until you confirm that the person you are talking to
is setting at the location that you will be jumping.
For everyone in the Tennessee and
Kentucky areas including Nashville, Clarksville, Bowling Green, Hendersonville,
Hopkinsville and all the other
areas surrounding the Nashville and Clarksville
areas, Adventure Skydiving IS on the
Tennessee Dept. of Consumer Affairs Watch List.
to see the current List of Buyer
Beware companies. You can see that 1 800 Skyride is number 2! That was
updated on April 30, 2009
Speaking of Clarksville, Let's go Scuba Diving for
Great White Sharks in Clarksville! Here's the websites that claim to
do that;
That's right,
Great White Sharks in Clarksville, Tn.
For
Scuba Diving,
Pilates,
Romantic Cruise,
Golf lessons or
Kickboxing and many other venues.
A good way to find out where that person
is that answered the phone is to point-blank ask him/her "Where are you at
right now", if they ask you where you are before
they will tell you where they are, it's a scam! Hang
up the phone immediately! Any Skydive Center that is real will have no problem telling
you where they are without asking you first. They also claim to be
Nashville Skydiving, Located in
Nashville, (keep in mind that there is NO Skydiving Centers IN Nashville, But
the REAL Nashville Skydiving is Located in
Russellville, Ky. 50 minutes north of Nashville. The REAL
Nashville Skydiving has been in business for
over 25 years and can proove it.
If you live in the State of Colorado, be sure that you are dealing with
the REAL Skydive Colorado and not the 1 800 Skyride Scam website.
The REAL Skydive Colorado is located at the Fremont County Airport Penrose,
CO, This is the link to their website;
Skydive Colorado
The FAKE Website by 1 800
Skyride that FALSELY advertises
to be Skydive Colorado is this link;
Colorado Skydiving SCAM
For a quick comparison, simply click on the following links and decide
for yourself,
http://www.nashvilleskydiving.net then go to
http://www.1800skyride.com/Skydiving/Washington/index.html
Then go to http://www.1800skyride.com/Skydiving/NorthCarolina/ Look
at the pictures, the websites are advertising
to be in opposite sides of America. That's 2600 miles apart and yet, they
have the same pictures of the same skydivers with the same green grass and trees
in the background. Click Here to see
the litigation that the the Georgia State government has against Skyride.
This is a website that 1 800 Skyride runs to scam people out of their
money for Hot Air Balloon Rides;
http://www.albuquerquehotairballoons.com/ Now check this Skydiving website and confirm you decision that 1
800 Skyride is truly a scam;
http://www.1800skyride.com/Skydiving/Nashville/ You will see that they are the same website
with only the pictures changed to fit the venue.
If you have encountered these people and you feel that you were not treated
with dignity or were just plain ripped off, please contact us at
Stopskyride@1800skyrideripoff.com
If you feel you have been scammed and feel compelled to file a complaint
against 1 800 Skyride, Adventure Skydiving, Thill Planet or any of their other aliases,
We will make it easy for you to do. This is a link to the
Tennessee Dept Consumer Affairs Compliant Dept's Complaint Form,
We are currently gathering information and evidence of their business practices
and you will not be asked for any money of any kind and we WILL NOT ask for any
credit card information. We only want the information of your bad experience with
1 800skyride, Adventure Sports, or any of their aliases.
As of 18 August 2008, Igovincent dba 1800 Skyride/Thrill Planet/Adventure Skydiving
Is under a Court Order by the
Superior Court of Georgia to operate legally. This
Court order directs 1 800 Skyride to;
(A) Clearly post the physical location on their websites.
(B) They also are ordered to clearly disclose the accurate driving distance the
customer will be expected to drive to receive the service that they are paying for.
(C) They are ordered to clearly post on ALL of their websites, a link to their "Terms
and Conditions" page.
They are ordered to Clearly post their refund policies in the Terms and Conditions
page.
(D) They are also ordered to turn over a complete list of their websites to the
Georgia Dept of Consumer Affairs for inspection and monitoring.
(E) 1 800 Skyride is also ordered to pay
restitution to the customers that they defrauded. This
is a link to the court order.
1 800 Skyride
also operates under the Names of ThrillPlanet.com, Luxergy.com, Spagoda.com, Igovincent.com
and countless others. Don't be fooled by their wild claims to have a skydive
center in every city in America. They have even been known to sell their fake gift
certificates to people in Idaho and Utah. That's 3000 miles from Atlanta! They do not have a Skydive Center in Utah or Idaho
even though they have this website
http://www.utahskydiving.com/
claiming to have a location there, when in reality the
REAL Skydive Utah's website is
http://www.skydiveutah.com/ Their Idaho Skydiving website http://www.idahoskydiving.com looks just like the others with the same deceptive tactics. The REAL Skydiving center is
http://www.skydownskydiving.com/.
Check it out for yourself and please be careful when choosing where to skydive.
|
1 800 Skyride also has a website that offers Skydiving in Puerto Rico,
that site is www.puertoricoskydiving.com
There is only two Skydive Centers in Puerto Rico. They are both
owned by Jason Gonzalez and they absolutely do NOT accept 1 800 Skyride's gift
certificates. So if someone were to purchase
a Skydiving gift certificate from
www.puertoricoskydiving.com they have no chance of being able to
redeem it without traveling 2,000 miles.
IF you wish to Skydive in Puerto Rico, go to the REAL Puerto
Rico Skydiving at www.xtremedivers.com
