Read this information before choosing where to skydive.

In recent months, a Skydiving Company based in Atlanta, Ga. that operates under the name of 1 800 Skyride, Adventure Sports or Thrill Planet has been running websites and internet advertising claiming to be in each and every city and state in America. Be aware that they are ONLY located in Cedartown, Ga. and there is no such thing as a national chain of skydiving schools.

Be advised that the average Tandem Skydive will cost between $180 and $220, depending on what part of the country the Skydive Center is located. The only other charge that should be added over and above that cost would be if you should decide to purchase the video of your skydive and this will normally cost between $65 and $90, but keep in mind that this is completely OPTIONAL and no reputable skydive center will  require or pressure you in to buying the video package.  There is a Skydive Center that is located in Cedartown, Ga. that operates under the names of 1 800 Skyride, Adventure Skydiving, Thrill Planet and many, many other names. They run websites that claim to be in every Metropolitan city and every state in America.  Their latest claim is that they Are operating in downtown Nashville and many other Metropolitan cities. The truth is that there is NO skydiving in any major city in America, It's ILLEGAL! The only skydives that happen in the city are if a skydiving team jumps in to a major event like a Pro Football game or a NASCAR racing event etc. Those are professional skydivers and are definitely NOT first timers. Normally Skydive Centers are located 30 to 75 miles from the major city.  The 1 800Skyride/Adventure websites do not give their location and they will not normally tell you where they are until they have your credit card information. They will immediately charge you a cancellation fee and a bad weather insurance fee. They don't care if you have a death in the family or what, you will be charged these charges and they DO NOT get applied to the cost of your jump.  These charges in combination with the cost of the actual skydive and your travel including a hotel room in Cedartown, Ga. (Atlanta area) could cost you well over $500 to $700 for a skydiving trip that should not have cost over about $200 to $290. (This is if you choose the video).

This is a link for the new Tennessee State Law that just became effective 1 July 2008, Check out the law, it clearly shows that companies like Skyride, Thrill Planet, Adventure, or whatever they are going by this week is operating ILLEGALLY!
http://www.legislature.state.tn.us/bills/currentga/Chapter/PC0873.pdf
In this law, an advertiser like Skyride has to CLEARLY state their physical location on their websites and phone book ads, AND calls made to a company's call center CANNOT be forwarded outside of the local calling area that the location is advertised to be located in. For Example; If a company advertises to be in Connecticut, BY LAW it has to have a location IN Connecticut, If a company advertises to be in Nashville, Tn. It BY LAW Has to have a PHYSICAL LOCATION In Nashville, Tn.  This law also states that companies like Skyride cannot use the name of a city or state to mask their actual location. For example; a company cannot advertise to be "Nashville Skydiving" if they are not based or located in Nashville, but actually located in Cedartown, Ga., which is over 250 miles away from Nashville.
To Show Thrill Planet's Blatent disregard for the legal system and State Laws, Check this link www.1800skyride.com/Skydiving/Clarksville for another one of their fraudulent websites that advertises to have a skydive center in Clarksville, Tn. The problem with this site is that they are trying to make an effort to do some skydiving there, but the websites are still illegal. You will notice that it does not give any directions and does not give a location. THAT'S ILLEGAL! That's because they want you to call them and give them your credit card number before they will tell you that they are in Cedartown, Ga. Don't get scammed! Don't give your credit card number until you confirm that the person you are talking to is setting at the location that you will be jumping.

For everyone in the Tennessee and Kentucky areas including Nashville, Clarksville, Bowling Green, Hendersonville, Hopkinsville and all the other areas surrounding the Nashville and Clarksville areas, Adventure Skydiving IS on the Tennessee Dept. of Consumer Affairs Watch List. Click HERE to see the list. They are number 16 on that list and Click HERE to see the current List of Buyer Beware companies. You can see that 1 800 Skyride is number 3! The last one was updated on Monday 22 Sept. 2008

A good way to find out where that person is that answered the phone is to point-blank ask him/her "Where are you at right now", if they ask you where you are before they will tell you where they are, it's a scam! Hang up the phone immediately! Any Skydive Center that is real will have no problem telling you where they are without asking you first.  They also claim to be Nashville Skydiving, Located in Nashville, (keep in mind that there is NO Skydiving Centers IN Nashville, But the REAL Nashville Skydiving is Located in Russellville, Ky. 50 minutes north of Nashville. The REAL Nashville Skydiving has been in business for over 25 years and can proove it.

For a quick comparison, simply click on the following links and decide for yourself,   http://www.nashvilleskydiving.net then go to http://www.1800skyride.com/Skydiving/Washington/index.html Then go to   http://www.1800skyride.com/Skydiving/NorthCarolina/ Look at the pictures, the websites are advertising to be in opposite sides of America. That's 2600 miles apart and yet, they have the same pictures of the same skydivers with the same green grass and trees in the background. Click Here to see the litigation that the the Georgia State government has against Skyride.

This is a website that 1 800 Skyride runs to scam people out of their money for Hot Air Balloon Rides; http://www.albuquerquehotairballoons.com/  Now check this Skydiving website and confirm you decision that 1 800 Skyride is truly a scam; http://www.1800skyride.com/Skydiving/Nashville/      You will see that they are the same website with only the pictures changed to fit the venue.

1 800 Skyride also operates under the Names of ThrillPlanet.com, Luxergy.com, Spagoda.com, Igovincent.com and countless others. Don't be fooled by their wild claims to have a skydive center in every city in America. They have even been known to sell their fake gift certificates to people in Idaho and Utah. That's 3000 miles from Atlanta! They do not have a Skydive Center in Utah or Idaho even though they have this website http://www.utahskydiving.com/  claiming to have a location there, when in reality the REAL Skydive Utah's website is http://www.skydiveutah.com/  Their Idaho Skydiving website  http://www.idahoskydiving.com looks just like the others with the same deceptive tactics. The REAL Skydiving center is http://www.skydownskydiving.com/. Check it out for yourself and please be careful when choosing where to skydive.
